Epimelea

Questions

How much does it cost

The first two meetings are free and need no card. They are the same meetings as the paid ones.

After that, $19 a month. There is nothing else to buy. The price is shown before you pay.

Can I cancel, and can I get my money back

You can cancel at any time, in one step. Cancel where you subscribed: in the app, in the App Store, in Google Play, or through the link in the letter Creem sent you after payment.

Write to hello@epimelea.com within 14 days of a payment and we return it in full. You do not have to say why. Purchases made inside the iPhone or Android app go through Apple or Google, and only they can return that money.

More: refunds and cancellation.

What happens to my archive if the subscription ends

A subscription is needed only to start new meetings. A meeting already under way runs to its end. Records of meetings, the notebook, summaries, export and deletion stay available at all times, whether you are paying or not.

What if I skip a week, or a month

Nothing is lost while you are away. The archive stays as it was, and you can read, export or delete it at any time. Come back when you want: the first meeting after a break starts from your archive, not from a blank page.

If you paid for a month and did not use it, cancel before the next payment and you are not charged again.

Who can read my records

What you say is encrypted on your device, with a key we do not have. What we hold is ciphertext.

One caveat: to answer you, the language model has to read you. During a meeting the server assembles the recent part of your conversation, sends it to the provider of the model, and returns the reply. Your conversations do not go towards training models.

More: privacy policy.

How do I open my archive on another phone or in a browser

You may buy a new phone or move from iPhone to Android. Enter the archive name and the password, and the whole history is there, down to the last meeting. Several devices can be used at once.

You can also export your archive. The app saves it as ordinary text files that open anywhere.

What if I forget my password

If you lose both the password and the recovery code, the archive will be lost. We keep no copy of either and cannot send them back. Please keep the recovery code somewhere safe, and export your archive from time to time.

Who is the therapist

The therapist is a language model. It works in the existential-humanistic tradition of Yalom and Frankl.

What if I feel bad right now

This is not emergency help. If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number or a crisis line. findahelpline.com lists them by country.

US and Canada: call or text 988. UK and Ireland: Samaritans, 116 123. Australia: Lifeline, 13 11 14.

Who answers email

Write to hello@epimelea.com. Tell us what happened and which device you were on. One person reads that address and answers within a couple of days.
