Therapy that remembers
Therapy starts with telling your story. In a chat app you tell it again each time: close the window, and the next chat starts from zero.
Here the therapist remembers your whole story. You come back and pick up where you left off.
What it remembers
After each meeting, the app keeps what matters for the therapy: the themes that keep coming back and what you decided.
Three years on, the first meeting is as clear as yesterday's.
Who the therapist is
The therapist is a language model. Its approach is existential-humanistic therapy, the school of Yalom and Frankl.
It gives no advice and hands out no exercises. It asks, and you answer. The conversation is about freedom and choice, loneliness, meaning, mortality.
How a meeting goes
You can write or speak, and switch in the middle of a meeting. A meeting lasts as long as it needs to. No timer, no limit on how many.
Where the memory lives
The memory is your archive. It is encrypted on your device and opens with the archive name and your password. The app asks for no email and no phone number.
The archive exports as a folder of plain text files. Any text editor opens it, and you can hand it to a human therapist.
One caveat: to reply, the language model has to receive your words unencrypted.
What it costs
The first two meetings are free. After that, $19 a month.
